How accurate is mri in detecting cancer?

My brother recently had some suspicious symptoms, and his doctor suggested an MRI scan to check for potential issues. We are all quite anxious about cancer, so I wanted to know generally how accurate MRI scans are for detecting various types of cancer.

An MRI is highly accurate and gives very clear details of soft tissues. My uncle always says we should trust traditional wellness, but when it comes to serious scans like this, we must completely trust the modern doctor's expertise. Follow whatever your specialist recommends.

MRI scans are indeed very accurate, but they can cost anywhere between 6,000 to 12,000 rupees depending on the city and if contrast is used. I suggest checking if you have a referral letter, as some government-empanelled labs or trust hospitals offer them at half the rate.

It is a highly accurate test, but sometimes even an MRI can miss very tiny lesions or show something benign that looks suspicious. That is why a doctor will usually do a biopsy to confirm. Please discuss your specific symptoms with a specialist doctor as soon as possible.

Mera chota bhai hospital mein kaam karta hai, woh bolta hai ki MRI se badhkar koi machine nahi hai andar ki bimari dekhne ke liye. Aap darna mat, bilkul pakka test hai ye. Doctor sahab jo kahein, waisa hi kijiye.

It is extremely detailed and accurate, especially for organs and soft tissues. Honestly, the hardest part of the MRI is lying completely still for 45 minutes without thinking about butter chicken! Just get it done, it's a very reliable test.

I totally get it, waiting for an MRI and worrying about what it will show is so nerve-wracking. But it is one of the most advanced and accurate imaging tools doctors have today. Try to take deep breaths, you are going to get through this scan.

I am actually quite new to all of this and feeling a bit scared. Is the MRI scan very loud inside the machine, and does it always require an injection for the dye? If anyone could share their experience, it would really help calm my nerves.

MRI is excellent and has super high accuracy for soft tissues. To keep your mind calm before the scan, try going for a light, refreshing walk in the morning if your doctor allows. Keeping the body moving helps ease the tension.
