How accurate is garmin sleep tracker?

I recently switched from a basic fitness band to a Garmin smartwatch, mainly for its more advanced features. I'm interested in understanding my sleep patterns better. Does anyone know how accurate the Garmin sleep tracker is compared to other devices or even clinical measures?

Actually yaar, Garmin is amazing for running, but its sleep tracking can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. If you are just lying in bed reading a book, it might register it as light sleep. Don't stress too much on the exact minutes.

I've been using a Garmin for three years now. The sleep start and end times are highly accurate, but the deep vs REM sleep split is just an estimate based on heart rate variability. To get the best out of it, make sure the band is snug on your wrist before sleeping.

Garmin uses advanced optical sensors, so its heart rate tracking during sleep is quite reliable. However, please remember it is a fitness tracker, not a medical polysomnography test. Use it as a tool to watch your resting heart rate trends rather than absolute sleep stages.

Haan yaar, Garmin ka battery life toh solid hai, but sleep tracking thoda basic hai. Agar aap raat ko uth ke paani peene jaate ho toh detect kar leta hai, par choti-moti movement ko miss kar deta hai. Overalls trends dekhne ke liye badhiya hai na.

I was actually comparing Garmin and Apple Watch sleep tracking reviews online yesterday! Most tech reviewers say Garmin's newest sensors are much better than the older ones, but they still struggle a bit with detecting awake times accurately if you lie very still.

Listen, don't let a smartwatch tell you whether you had a good night or not. If you wake up feeling fresh and full of energy, then your sleep is perfect, regardless of what the Garmin score says. Use it as a gentle guide, but trust your own body first.
