How accurate is ct scan for liver cancer?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with some liver issues, and the doctor suggested a CT scan to rule out anything serious. We're all quite worried, so I wanted to understand how reliable this test generally is for detecting liver cancer. Just trying to gather some info to support him.

I totally get it, waiting for these test results can make your stomach do flips. A CT scan with contrast is actually very accurate for finding liver issues and doctors rely on it a lot. Just try to breathe easy and let the doc guide you on the next steps.

Beta, in my 60-plus years I have seen so many family members go through these health scares. The CT scan technology is highly advanced nowadays and gives a very clear picture of the liver to the doctors. Trust your specialists, they know exactly how to read these scans.

See, CT scans are very reliable for this, but getting it done from a well-known, certified lab is what matters most. Don't go to any cheap clinic just to save a few bucks. Pay a bit extra for a good diagnostic center so the report is 100% clear and correct.

Haan na, checking up on all this online can make us so nervous. Honestly, CT scan is very accurate for liver, but sometimes doctors also ask for an MRI to be double sure. Don't stress too much, doctor will tell you if anything else is needed.

Completely agree with others here. Just make sure it is a triple-phase CT scan as that is the standard one they use for the most accurate liver imaging.

I know exactly how terrifying it is to search these things late at night, my anxiety used to go through the roof. But please know that a triple-phase CT scan is incredibly detailed for detecting liver spots. You are in safe hands, so try not to let the anxious thoughts take over.

From what I've tracked in medical tech discussions, contrast CTs are super precise for mapping out liver vascularity. They have high sensitivity, though sometimes an MRI is used as a backup to cross-verify. Definitely log your reports on a health app to keep them handy.
