How accurate is ct scan for colon cancer?

My father had polyps found during a colonoscopy recently. The doctor mentioned follow-up CT scans if needed. How accurate is a CT scan specifically for detecting colon cancer or tracking its progression?

I ignored persistent bloating and gas for months, and I highly regret delaying my tests. While a CT scan is highly accurate for checking if cancer has spread to other organs, it can miss small polyps inside the colon. Please go get a proper colonoscopy done without delay.

My granddad had this scan. It's super detailed for looking at the whole stomach area, but the doctor said a colonoscopy is still the main test to actually find and biopsy any polyps. Better to get both done as advised.

A CT scan is very useful for staging, but for actual detection of colon issues, doctors prefer a colonoscopy. Please consult a pediatric gastroenterologist or a specialist who can guide you on the safest and most accurate path.

A CT scan is a highly reliable medical test for mapping the abdomen. While keeping your digestive system clean with fiber-rich foods is good for general health, any serious symptoms must be evaluated by a doctor. Don't delay medical tests for home remedies.

CT scans are highly advanced, but they are only one part of the diagnosis. Please do not try any herbal remedies or digestion powders if you are having severe abdominal pain or blood in stool. Go to a proper hospital and get tested immediately.

The CT scan is very accurate for staging, but please don't rely on it alone. My relative had complications because a small lesion was missed on imaging and only caught later. Please consult a senior oncologist to ensure all necessary tests are completed.
