How accurate is ct scan for cancer?

My sister was just diagnosed with cancer after a CT scan, and now I'm thinking about general health checks. If someone suspects they might have cancer, how accurate is a CT scan for identifying it in different parts of the body?

In my father's case, the CT scan was highly detailed and clearly showed the exact location of the tumor in his abdomen. It helped the surgeons plan his treatment perfectly, though we also had to do a biopsy to confirm the cancer type.

A CT scan is a highly advanced test and very accurate for finding abnormal growths in the body. While medical science does its work, keep the patient comfortable with light, warm home-cooked food. But never rely on any home remedies for serious illnesses like cancer.

My doctor has recommended a contrast CT scan, but I am extremely nervous about the radiation and the test accuracy. Did anyone else feel really anxious before their scan, and did the reports turn out to be clear?

CT scans are extremely detailed and trusted by doctors worldwide for diagnosis. Try to stay calm, you are in safe hands.

Look, CT scan is one of the best imaging tests we have, but it cannot confirm cancer 100% on its own; a biopsy is almost always required. Don't waste time worrying about accuracy, just get the scan done at a good diagnostic center.

Our elders always say to have faith and not panic during health crises. A CT scan is a very accurate and standard procedure, but always discuss the final reports clearly with your oncologist to understand the next steps.
