Have a fever but feel cold?

Since last night, I've had a fever, but the strange thing is I keep feeling really cold and shivering, even under blankets. My temperature is high, but I can't seem to get warm. Has anyone else experienced this kind of fever where you feel cold despite having a high temp?

My grandmother always said that feeling cold during a fever is just the body's way of fighting the infection. However, we must trust the doctor for proper diagnosis. Please take rest, keep a warm blanket, and consult a physician if the temperature is very high.

Feeling cold or shivering is a very common reaction when your body temperature is rising during a fever. Rest well and monitor your temperature.

I used to panic completely when I shivered during a fever, thinking it was something dangerous like malaria. But my doctor reassured me that chills are just a normal reaction as your body's thermostat adjusts to fight the bug. Just take a paracetamol if prescribed and relax, it will settle down.

Your body is currently generating heat to cleanse and protect your system, which is why you feel cold externally. Keep yourself warm with light clothing and drink warm water. Avoid any strenuous yoga practice or pranayama until your fever fully subsides and you regain your strength.

You can drink some warm ginger and tulsi tea to help soothe the chills and make you feel comfortable. But please remember, if the fever goes very high or you feel severe body pain, you must go see a doctor immediately. Home remedies are only to make you comfortable while the body rests.
