Has cancer always existed?

Watching a documentary about ancient diseases got me thinking. Cancer seems so prevalent today, almost like a modern epidemic. I'm wondering if this disease has always been around, even in ancient times, or if it's more of a recent phenomenon?

Yes, cancer has always existed, and scientists have even found evidence of bone tumors in ancient mummies. Don't believe those internet claims that cancer is a 'modern man-made disease' that can be cured by stopping sugar or eating raw herbs. Always trust peer-reviewed science and consult qualified oncologists for real facts.

Honestly, I was up till 3 AM reading about history, and apparently, even ancient Greek doctors wrote about cancer. It's not just because of our modern mobile towers or processed food, though those probably don't help. I need to stop late-night googling and just go to sleep.

Cancer has been around for thousands of years, but back then they didn't have the tools to detect it. I once ignored a persistent lump thinking it was just a normal swelling, and I deeply regret delaying my checkup. Please, if you ever feel something is wrong with your body, get it tested by a doctor immediately.

In my youth, we heard less about cancer simply because diagnosis was not common, but the disease was always there. Today, we have excellent hospitals and advanced scans that catch it early, which is why we hear about it more. Don't be afraid of the word; science has made great progress in treating it now.

Historically speaking, cancer is as old as multicellular life itself, and even ancient Egyptian papyri describe breast tumors. The reason we see more cases now is simply because of increased life expectancy and better diagnostic tools. Since it has always been with us, our best defense remains early detection and modern medical science.

Yes, cancer is an ancient disease, but our modern sedentary lifestyle definitely increases the risk factors. To keep your body resilient, try to get at least 30 minutes of daily exercise like walking or yoga, and eat a balanced diet. Staying active keeps your immune system in top shape to fight off cellular damage.
