Does zofran help with stomach pain and diarrhea?

Kal se I've been having terrible stomach pain and also diarrhea. My husband said his doctor prescribed Zofran for nausea once. Will this medicine also help with both stomach pain and diarrhea?

I completely panicked when my daughter got stomach flu last year and thought we needed heavy medicines like Zofran immediately. Our doctor reassured us that Zofran only stops vomiting and nausea, but it won't cure diarrhea or stomach pain. It is completely normal for stomach bugs to run their course, just focus on ORS hydration.

Don't worry, just take a deep breath. Zofran is great for stopping you from throwing up, but it doesn't treat diarrhea or stomach cramps. Actually, a common side effect of Zofran can be constipation, so don't take it unless vomiting is your main issue. Keep sipping ORS water and consult your doctor.

No need to spend money on expensive medicines or sudden hospital visits for mild diarrhea. Zofran won't help with diarrhea or cramps anyway. Just get some cheap ORS packets and Electral from the local pharmacy, and if it doesn't stop in 24 hours, go to a general clinic which won't cost much.

I had a terrible stomach infection last month and my doctor told me Zofran is strictly for vomiting, not for loose motions or pain. For diarrhea, they usually give probiotics or specific antibacterial meds. Make sure to consult your physician instead of self-treating!

Zofran won't stop diarrhea or pain, it only targets the nausea pathways in your brain. When your stomach is upset, your body is trying to flush out toxins, so staying hydrated with coconut water and eating simple boiled rice with curd is the best way to recover. Let your gut rest!
