Does zepbound cause thyroid cancer in humans?

I'm considering a new medication for my health, but I've heard some warnings about its effects on the thyroid. I want to be absolutely sure about its safety. Does this treatment cause thyroid cancer in humans?

In all my years, I have seen many new drugs come with heavy warning labels. The thyroid cancer risk was seen in animal studies, so don't get overly worried, just keep up with your regular medical checkups.

Actually, it’s a black box warning on the box, yaar. But that is mostly based on studies done on rats, not humans. Just make sure you don't have any family history of thyroid issues.

I cannot say if it causes cancer, but when my doctor prescribed it, she checked my neck thoroughly and asked if anyone in my family had thyroid tumors. My own experience has been smooth so far.

I literally lost sleep over this warning when I first read it online! But after discussing it with my endocrinologist, I realized the actual risk is extremely low for humans with no prior family history. It is totally normal to feel scared at first.

If you ask Google, even a simple cough is diagnosed as a terminal illness! The warning is there because of lab rats, and last time I checked, we are humans. Just talk to your doctor and stay off medical forums.

This is a very common concern in our support group. While the risk has not been proven in human clinical trials, anyone with a history of MEN 2 syndrome or medullary thyroid cancer must avoid it. Always prioritize your doctor's screening.
