Does your pulse rate increase during heart attack?

I watched a medical drama yesterday where someone was having a heart attack, and they showed their pulse shooting up drastically. Is it always the case that the pulse rate increases when someone is experiencing a heart attack? Or can it be normal sometimes?

Yeah, it can definitely spike because your body goes into absolute panic mode. My college professor told us that the pulse rate can go either way, super fast or very slow. If someone is having chest discomfort, don't wait around, just get them to a clinic fast.

Yes, it can increase significantly. Please keep the patient calm and call for emergency medical assistance immediately.

Haan, pulse rate bilkul badh sakti hai kyunki dil par bahut zyada pressure hota hai na. But kabhi kabhi yeh slow bhi ho jaati hai, toh isko lightly mat lo. Agar koi bhi aisi emergency lage toh turant doctor ke paas bhago.

My son has a history of heart rhythm issues, and his cardiologist explained that a rapid, thumping pulse is a classic stress response of the heart during an attack. As a parent, I always advise keeping a pulse oximeter handy, but if you suspect a heart attack, bypass all tests and rush to the nearest emergency room.

I was just reading some medical articles about this yesterday. Apparently, while the pulse rate often increases due to adrenaline and the heart struggling, it can sometimes slow down too if the electrical pathways are damaged. It is really complex, so any major pulse abnormality needs a doctor's evaluation.
