Does your pulse change during a heart attack?

My father had a heart attack last year, and I remember someone mentioning his pulse was quite irregular during that time. Does a person's pulse actually change a lot or become erratic when they are having a heart attack? I want to be aware of the exact signs.

Yes, your pulse can either shoot up or drop very low during a heart attack depending on how the heart is reacting. I usually monitor my heart rate during my runs, but in emergency situations like chest pain, you shouldn't worry about tracking pulse. Just get immediate medical help instead of trying to walk it off or exercise.

Medical literature shows that a heart attack can cause an irregular, rapid, or even a abnormally slow pulse. Because the heart muscle is struggling, the rhythm goes completely out of sync. It is extremely critical to seek emergency medical care rather than trying to diagnose the pulse rate yourself at home.

My son has a congenital heart condition and his doctor taught us that any sudden, extreme change in pulse accompanied by sweating or chest pressure is a major warning sign. If you or anyone is feeling a fluttering pulse with discomfort, please don't wait at home. Take them to the nearest hospital immediately.

I often feel my pulse racing randomly and it makes me super anxious that it might be a heart issue. Has anyone else experienced their heart beating really fast along with chest tightness? I am planning to see a cardiologist soon because this anxiety is getting too much.

Yes dear, the pulse can change significantly, sometimes becoming very fast, irregular, or faint because the heart is under immense distress. Please remember that if someone has chest pain, left arm pain, or cold sweats, you must bypass all discussions and rush to the ER. Quick medical action saves lives.

For general health I always recommend a simple diet and herbal teas, but a heart attack is a different matter altogether. Your pulse can become highly erratic or very weak during an attack. Do not try any home remedies if you feel chest pain or breathing issues, just call an ambulance right away.

At my age, even climbing two flights of stairs makes my pulse jump, but a heart attack pulse change is a serious medical emergency. It can go wildly fast or scary slow. If your chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it, don't sit and count your pulse, just call the emergency number.

My uncle had a heart attack last year and his pulse became super weak and slow, we could barely feel it. He was sweating heavily too. We didn't waste any time checking his pulse manually, just put him in the car and rushed to the hospital. Always call doc immediately.
