Does your oxygen level drop when you sleep?

My wife often tells me I snore very loudly and sometimes stop breathing for a few seconds when I sleep. I've also heard that oxygen levels can drop during sleep. Is it normal for oxygen levels to go down a bit when you're sleeping, or is it a cause for concern?

Haan, sote waqt oxygen level thoda toh drop hota hi hai, normal hai na. Par agar bohot zyada drop ho raha hai aur aap subah sarr dard ke saath uthte ho, toh ek baar doctor ko dikha lena chahiye.

I used to panic looking at my smart watch sleep data showing oxygen dips down to 91% at night. But my doctor reassured me that small fluctuations are totally normal as our breathing slows down during deep sleep. Don't worry unless you are snoring heavily or waking up gasping.

I was researching this yesterday and found out that a slight drop in oxygen (around 95-97%) is completely normal during sleep because our respiration rate decreases. However, drops below 90% consistently can indicate sleep apnea, which needs medical attention.

I totally get it, tracking these levels on wearable devices can make you feel really anxious. A mild drop is standard, but if you feel excessively tired during the day, it is best to consult a specialist to rule out sleep apnea.

Bro, I wore my dad's pulse oximeter once while sleeping and freaked out seeing a minor dip. My biology professor told me it's just our body relaxing and breathing less intensely. Unless you have actual breathing trouble, it's chill.
