Does your heart race during a heart attack?

My mother was complaining of chest pain and also said her heart was beating very fast. My neighbour told me that a racing heart is a sign of a heart attack. Is it true that your heart races during a heart attack?

A racing heart can happen during cardiac events due to sudden stress and lack of oxygen. I always monitor my heart rate during workouts, but if it races while resting and is accompanied by chest tightness, that's a medical emergency. Get checked by a doctor before doing any fitness activities.

Sometimes the body sends strong signals like a racing heart when something is wrong. Please stay calm, keep a peaceful mind, and seek doctor's help immediately if you or someone else is feeling this discomfort. May everyone stay healthy.

At my age, a racing heart usually means I saw my monthly credit card bill! But jokes apart, if your heart is racing along with cold sweating and breathing trouble, don't ignore it thinking it's just gas. Get to a hospital emergency room immediately.

Yes, a racing heart can be a symptom, but it can also be a panic attack. However, never try to self-diagnose. If you feel sudden chest pain, numbness in the arm, or extreme sweating along with it, go to the nearest emergency clinic without wasting time.

I get palpitations due to my hormonal imbalances, but a racing heart during a cardiac event is different and usually paired with pressure in the chest or arm pain. Since we cannot be sure on our own, consulting a doctor or getting an ECG is the safest option.

While eating a light, low-sodium diet is great for long-term heart health, a racing heart during an acute attack is a direct medical crisis. If you experience this along with breathing difficulty, don't try any home remedies or herbal teas—just seek emergency medical care immediately.
