Does yellow 5 cause cancer?

I was checking the ingredients in some packaged foods my family consumes, and I noticed 'Yellow 5' listed. I remember reading something online about food additives, and I'm wondering if Yellow 5 is linked to causing cancer.

I track all my food ingredients on my fitness apps, and while Yellow 5 (tartrazine) is linked to hyperactivity in kids or some minor allergies, there is no solid scientific evidence linking it to cancer in approved human limits. Still, I prefer to log clean, unprocessed foods to be safe.

At 52, everything on the internet seems to cause cancer. Yellow 5 is just a food dye used in junk food; while it won't give you cancer instantly, eating too much junk will definitely ruin your digestion and waistline anyway!

Haan na, even I get so scared reading about these artificial colors in our food. It is better to avoid packaged yellow chips and sweets for kids, just stick to home-cooked food to stay safe.

Don't ignore any health changes by blaming them on food dyes like Yellow 5. I once ignored constant stomach pain thinking it was just food allergies, and it turned out to be a major ulcer. If you are feeling unwell, go get a checkup done immediately.

Instead of worrying too much about micro-ingredients like Yellow 5, focus on building a strong immune system. Daily walks, eating fresh food, and keeping your body active is the best way to prevent lifestyle diseases.

I developed a severe skin rash after eating foods with Yellow 5 because of an undiagnosed allergy. If you are having reactions, digestive issues, or general health concerns, please see an allergist or a doctor rather than reading online.

Yellow 5 is fully approved by regulatory bodies like the FDA and FSSAI. There is no conclusive proof that it causes cancer, but honestly, it has zero nutritional value, so just avoid highly processed food.

I can't comment on the medical aspect, but I personally stopped buying foods containing artificial dyes like Yellow 5 years ago. I felt less bloated and my mild skin itchiness cleared up entirely after cutting out processed foods.
