Does xylitol help with cavities?

My daughter is getting a lot of small cavities despite brushing regularly, and the dentist mentioned sugar intake. I heard about xylitol as a sugar substitute, so I'm wondering if it really helps with cavities.

Yes, it absolutely does! Xylitol stops the growth of cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth. It's a great and sweet way to protect your teeth naturally! 😊

It can help prevent new ones, but don't rely on it if you already have tooth pain. I ignored a minor toothache thinking chewing gum would fix it, and ended up needing an expensive root canal. If you already have sensitivity, please go get a proper checkup.

During my last dental checkup at Apollo, the doctor mentioned that xylitol helps by reducing acid-producing bacteria. However, she advised using it as a supplement to regular brushing. Please consult your dentist to see what suits your teeth.

Honestly, I keep a pack of xylitol mints on my nightstand because I'm often too exhausted to stand at the sink and brush at 2 AM. It keeps the mouth bacteria away and saves my teeth from my terrible sleep schedule.

Xylitol has dental benefits, but you must be careful. Any change in your teeth or sudden sensitivity should be examined by a professional dentist first to ensure there are no deeper infections.
