Does workers comp pay for pain and suffering?

I had an accident at my workplace a few months ago and am still dealing with constant back pain and a lot of emotional distress. Can workers' compensation pay for pain and suffering in such cases, or is it only for medical bills?

Generally speaking, workers' comp only covers your medical bills and lost wages, not extra money for 'pain and suffering.' For that, you usually have to look into a personal injury lawsuit if there was third-party negligence!

Actually no, yaar. Workers' comp is a no-fault system, so they just pay for treatment and basic leave. You don't get compensation for pain and suffering like you do in regular court cases.

I totally get it, dealing with an injury at work causes so much mental and physical agony. Sadly, the standard insurance laws usually limit the payout to medical expenses and salary loss, ignoring the emotional toll.

My father always says that legal battles in India take a long time and we should focus on recovery first. Standard workers' compensation only pays for hospital charges, so it is better to consult a legal expert for any other claims.

Legally, pain and suffering are not compensated under workers' comp. During such tough times, practicing gentle pranayama can help soothe your nervous system and manage the stress of injury recovery.

No, it doesn't. Workers' comp is strictly limited to economic damages like medical treatment costs and disability benefits. Do not expect any emotional distress payouts from the standard policy.

The law only helps with hospital bills, it doesn't pay for the pain you feel. While you recover, try using warm sesame oil massages to ease the physical pain naturally, and keep your medical bills safe for reimbursement.
