Does white noise help babies sleep?

My newborn has been quite restless at night, and I'm struggling to get her to sleep soundly. A friend suggested using white noise to calm her down. Does white noise actually help babies sleep better, or is it just a temporary trick?

Hey, don't stress too much about getting everything perfect. White noise actually worked wonders for my sister's baby, it mimics the womb sounds and calms them down quickly.

In our times we just sang sweet lullabies, which always worked. But I have seen my daughter-in-law use these white noise apps, and it seems to help the baby fall asleep peacefully.

A gentle massage with warm coconut oil before sleep is a very old and reliable way to soothe a restless baby. These modern machine sounds are alright, but maternal touch is always the best.

I tried everything from keeping the room pitch dark to playing soft music. Honestly, a low hum of a ceiling fan or a white noise machine really helped mask sudden outside noises.

We thought our baby was just crying due to sleep issues and tried white noise for days. It turned out to be a severe ear infection, so please get a pediatrician checkup if the crying doesn't stop.

Taking the baby out in a pram for a gentle evening walk can also tire them out naturally. Combined with some soft white noise, they will sleep like a log.
