Does welding cause cancer?

I've been a welder for over 20 years now. Recently, some colleagues were discussing the health risks, specifically about cancer. Is there a strong link between welding and an increased risk of developing cancer?

Exposure to toxic fumes can definitely pose severe health risks over time. Proper protective gear and well-ventilated workspaces are absolutely mandatory.

Don't stress too much if it is just a one-off hobby. But if it is your regular job, just invest in a really high-quality respirator mask, safety first!

Haan, welding fumes se lung cancer ka risk toh hota hai agar bina safety ke kaam karo. Safety glass aur mask toh zaroori hai na.

Working in such environments demands clean air and lung care. Ensure your workshop has active exhaust ventilation systems, don't compromise on that.

I read a lot about industrial hazards and got so scared. The chrome and nickel in the fumes are really dangerous for the lungs if inhaled daily.

Yes, welding fumes are classified as carcinogenic. Please always wear heavy duty masks and respirators to stay safe at work! 👍
