Does weather affect rheumatoid arthritis?

My aunt has severe rheumatoid arthritis, and she always complains that her pain flares up badly whenever the weather is damp or cold. Does the weather really have such a significant impact on rheumatoid arthritis symptoms?

Actually yaar, my mom has RA and she suffers a lot during the rainy season in Mumbai. The high humidity makes her joints so stiff in the morning. We use hot fermentation and it helps her get some relief.

I have lived with rheumatoid arthritis for forty years now. When the winter chill or monsoon dampness sets in, my joints definitely ache and swell more. Don't worry, it is a very common reaction, just keep your body warm and do light stretching.

I have both thyroid issues and joint pain, and weather transitions make my body ache so much. It is very important to get your inflammation markers tested regularly. Make sure you discuss these seasonal flare-ups with your doctor during your routine visits.

Barometric pressure drops can cause tissues in your joints to expand, leading to increased pain for RA patients. If the pain becomes unbearable or is accompanied by high fever or severe swelling, please visit your rheumatologist immediately rather than self-treating.

In the cold weather, the blood flow to our limbs decreases, which increases the stiffness of rheumatoid arthritis. I always drink warm water with a pinch of dry ginger powder during winters. Keeping your joints wrapped in warm woollen clothes also gives great comfort.
