Does wearing socks help you sleep?

My feet always feel cold at night, and I often struggle to fall asleep quickly. I saw a Reel online suggesting that wearing socks to bed can actually help improve sleep. Is there any scientific basis to this claim?

For me, keeping my feet warm is very important, especially because diabetes can affect blood circulation in the legs. Wearing loose cotton socks at night helps me relax and sleep much better. Just make sure they are not tight elastic socks, as that can restrict blood flow.

Honestly, a warm cup of haldi doodh and soft fuzzy socks is my ultimate winter sleep combo! Keeping your feet warm tells your brain it is time to rest. It works like magic, almost as good as a heavy dinner!

It definitely helps! Our body needs to cool down to fall asleep, and warming the feet dilates blood vessels to assist that process. Along with wearing loose socks, try to avoid heavy, spicy dinners close to bedtime as that can also disrupt your sleep cycle.

Yes, keeping the feet warm helps lower your core body temperature, which triggers sleep naturally. You can also massage your soles with a little warm mustard oil before putting on socks. However, if your insomnia is chronic and severe, please consult a medical doctor.

It really does work, especially during colder months or if you keep the AC on high. Warm feet signal to your brain that you are safe and cozy. Just ensure you wear clean, breathable cotton socks so your feet don't get sweaty and itchy during the night.
