Does walking help pass kidney stones?

I was just diagnosed with a small kidney stone and the doctor said it might pass on its own. My family is advising me to walk a lot and drink plenty of water to help it move. Is walking really effective in helping kidney stones pass naturally?

Please don't blindly rely on walking to pass stones. If the stone is large, it can block your tract and damage your kidneys. Get an ultrasound done first to verify the size with a urologist.

If the stone is small, just drink lots of water and walk around your building compound. You don't need any expensive setups, simple brisk walking at home helps the stone slip down.

Get a basic ultrasound done at a local lab, it doesn't cost much and will tell you the exact stone size. If it's under 5mm, walking and plenty of water is the most cost-effective way to clear it.

I tried walking to pass a stone and ignored the growing dull ache. It turned out the stone was blocking my urine flow, and I had to be rushed for emergency surgery. Please see a doctor if the pain is constant.

Hey, don't stress too much! Just keep a big water bottle next to you, drink up, and take a gentle stroll around your colony. It helps gravity do its work naturally.

At this age, my doctor wants me to walk for everything—sugar, BP, and now kidney stones! But yes, a regular evening walk with a big water bottle in hand actually helps shake that little stone out.

Look, simple logic: water and walking help push small stones out. But if the stone is bigger than 6mm, walking won't miraculously melt it. Go get a doctor's opinion first.

My uncle went through this recently. He used to drink water, wait a bit, and then go for a light walk on the terrace. It really helped him pass the stone without too much trouble.

Drinking fresh coconut water or neera in the morning and going for a light walk helps flush out small stones. But if you feel any vomiting or high fever, please do not wait at home and consult a doctor.

I remember crying from the pain when I had my stone, it is honestly so draining. Walking gently did help me eventually pass it, so try to stay strong and keep moving slowly when you feel up to it.

Walking does help, but staying hydrated is key! I literally had to swap my favorite cold coffees and spicy chats for plain old water and barley water while walking to get rid of my stone.

My roommate had a 4mm stone during exams and the doc just told her to drink water and walk. She basically did laps around our hostel lobby and it passed in a few days. So yeah, it works.
