Does walking help back pain?

Sitting at a desk all day for my job has developed quite a bit of lower back pain recently. My physiotherapist suggested regular walking, but sometimes after a long walk, the pain feels worse. Does walking really help with back pain, or am I doing something wrong?

In most cases, a gentle walk helps release the stiffness in your lower back. Just make sure you are not walking with a slouch. Wear good walking shoes and keep the pace very easy.

Walking is a great low-impact cardio option that strengthens your core and back. However, if you have a slip disc or severe nerve compression, please get your doctor's clearance before doing any regular walking.

I walk daily for my sugar levels and noticed it keeps my mild back pain away too. But don't overdo it if your back is hurting a lot today. Take rest and consult a doctor if the pain is sharp.

Actually, sitting in office all day ruins my back, yaar. A short walk after work really helps stretch things out. Just make sure you don't walk on uneven roads, otherwise it might hurt more.

I get back pain sometimes because of my PCOS, and a light walk usually helps me feel lighter. But everyone's body is different, so please don't push yourself if the pain increases.

Hey, don't stress too much. A small 15-minute walk around your colony can actually open up those tight muscles. Just go slow and see how your back feels, okay?
