Does walking help arthritis?

My hands and knees are always stiff because of arthritis, especially in the mornings. My daughter keeps telling me to walk more, saying it will help with the pain and stiffness. But I feel more pain sometimes after walking, so I wanted to ask if walking is really good for arthritis or not?

A gentle morning walk can bring a lot of peace and keep the joints moving nicely. Just stay positive, listen to your body, and don't push yourself beyond your comfort level.

Don't go by what people say online, as every arthritis case is different. For some, walking helps, but for others, it can wear out the joints more if done wrong. Please consult your rheumatologist first.

I have been dealing with osteoarthritis for 8 years now. Walking definitely helps keep the knee fluid moving, but you must do it on a grassy or soft track, never on hard concrete, and avoid walking when pain is acute.

Haan, bilkul help karta hai! Mere dadaji ko doctor ne bola tha thoda walking karne ko taaki joints jam na ho jayein. Bas slowly walk karna, bhaagna mat na.

Don't worry, a light walk is generally very good to keep the joint stiffness away. Just start with very short distances on flat ground, and wear comfortable, cushioned shoes to protect your feet.
