Does vomiting help nausea?
On long car rides, I sometimes get really nauseous. My friend mentioned that if you just throw up, you'll feel better right away. Is there any truth to this, or is it better to try and control it?

I totally get it, that constant sick feeling in the throat is absolutely exhausting and you just want it to end. While vomiting sometimes brings a small wave of relief, forcing it usually makes your throat raw and increases the nausea. Please stay hydrated and try sniffing a fresh lemon, it really helps soothe the nerves.
I had terrible food poisoning last week and felt extremely nauseous. Throwing up gave me some temporary relief for maybe ten minutes, but the urge kept coming back and just made me weaker. Don't force it, just let your body rest and sip some ORS.
Whenever I feel nauseous, I get so scared of actually vomiting because my chest starts hurting. Does anyone else feel like vomiting makes them even more dizzy and anxious instead of helping? I try to just sit under the fan and avoid moving at all.
Don't stress, it's just your body's way of reacting to something that didn't suit you. Forcing yourself to throw up won't cure the nausea; it only dehydrates you faster. Just wash your face with cold water, sit quietly, and if it gets too intense, we will get you a proper tablet from the doctor.
I used to panic so much thinking my nausea would never go away unless I threw up. But then I realized that just resting and sipping ginger water actually calms the stomach naturally. It's completely normal to feel this way, just give your body a little time to settle down.
