Does voltaren help nerve pain?

My knee pain sometimes feels like a sharp, shooting sensation down my leg, almost like nerve pain. My doctor prescribed Voltaren gel for my general joint aches. I'm wondering if it can also help with this specific type of nerve pain.

I used Voltaren gel for my sciatica for weeks, but honestly, it only gives temporary relief to the surface muscles. For deep nerve pain, you need specific prescription pills that target the nerve directly, which only a doctor can give.

My dad tried applying Voltaren for his pinched nerve in the neck, but it didn't do much. Nerve pain is usually deeper under the tissues, so topical creams struggle to reach that level. Warm heat pads helped him feel a bit better though.

No, Voltaren is an anti-inflammatory meant for muscular and joint arthritis pain. It is not formulated to block nerve-related pain signals. Save your money and go see a neurologist for the right medication.

Don't stress too much about it, dear. Voltaren is great for joint and muscle soreness, but nerve pain is a different ball game altogether. It might ease the surrounding tension a little, but please ask a doctor for a proper solution.

I often get tingling and nerve aches due to my thyroid and vitamin deficiencies. Applying pain gels like Voltaren doesn't fix the root cause. You should get a full blood panel and consult your doctor for a long-term treatment plan.
