Does vinegar get rid of dandruff?

I've been dealing with dandruff for ages, and nothing seems to work permanently. My nani always says vinegar is good for everything, including hair issues. Does vinegar actually help get rid of dandruff? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Yes, apple cider vinegar works quite well for dandruff. Just dilute equal parts of vinegar and water, apply it to your scalp, and wash it off after 15 minutes. It is a very cheap and simple solution compared to expensive shampoos.

It actually works, yaar! I used diluted apple cider vinegar as a final rinse after shampooing and my scalp felt so clean. Just don't use it directly without diluting, otherwise it will irritate your skin.

I totally get it, dandruff can be so embarrassing and itchy to deal with. Diluted apple cider vinegar helps restore the pH balance of your scalp, which can reduce the flakes. Give it a gentle try and see how your skin reacts.

Don't worry too much, dandruff is a very common issue and easily manageable. Try the diluted vinegar rinse once a week, but if your scalp feels dry or starts burning, stop it immediately and use a gentle anti-dandruff shampoo.

My dermatologist mentioned that while vinegar has antifungal properties, it is not a permanent cure for severe seborrheic dermatitis. It might help with mild scaling, but for persistent dandruff, medicated shampoos containing ketoconazole are far more effective.
