Does vaseline work on eczema?

My two-year-old has developed some patches of eczema, and the doctor suggested using Vaseline regularly. Before I start, I wanted to ask if other parents have found it effective for their kids' eczema. Any tips for applying it to a squirmy toddler?

My dermatologist told me that plain petroleum jelly is actually one of the safest moisturizers for eczema because it has zero fragrances or preservatives. It works by trapping moisture inside the skin. It won't cure the underlying inflammation, but it helps repair the dry skin barrier remarkably well.

When I consulted the skin specialist at Manipal Hospital, they suggested using pure petroleum jelly for my dry eczema patches. However, everyone's skin reacts differently, so it is always best to ask your doctor clearly before applying it to raw skin.

Absolutely! It might make you look like a shiny gulab jamun for a while, but it really keeps the eczema dryness away. Cheap and highly effective, no need to buy those fancy creams.

It helps manage the external dryness, especially when sweating irritates your skin during workouts. But also try keeping your diet clean and drinking lots of water. It makes a big difference to skin health overall.

Yes, it works really well to soothe the itching and keep the skin soft. It has been a life-saver for my family during winters.
