Does vaping cause lung cancer?

My friends at work have started vaping and they say it's much safer than cigarettes. I'm trying to quit smoking myself and was thinking of trying it. Does vaping actually cause lung cancer, or is it really a 'safer' alternative like they claim?

I completely understand the terrifying anxiety of searching about lung cancer online, it literally keeps you awake all night. While the long-term cancer data for vaping is still being collected, the toxic chemicals in it are definitely not safe for lung cells. Taking a deep breath and talking to a doctor is the best way to ease your mind.

It is so hard to admit that a habit you enjoy might be seriously harming you, and the fear of lung disease can feel so heavy. I struggled with that guilt for a long time before finally quitting. Your fear is very real, but taking the step to quit will give you so much peace of mind.

I used to panic every time I had a slight cough, thinking my vaping habit had given me cancer. When I got my chest checked, the doctor reassured me it was just mild bronchitis from the vapor irritation, which went away after I quit. Don't assume the worst, but definitely use this as a sign to stop.

Yaar, actually vaping is not just safe water vapor like people claim on social media. E-liquids have heavy metals and chemicals that can cause serious cellular damage in your lungs over time. It's better to quit now rather than risking something as scary as cancer, bro.

As a mother, I was heartbroken when I found out my college-going son was vaping, thinking it was just cool steam. I sat him down and explained how these chemicals accumulate in the young lungs and can lead to life-threatening diseases later. Please protect your health, your family cares about you deeply.

According to the pulmonologist I consulted, while vapes don't contain tobacco tar, the heating process releases carcinogens like formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. These chemicals can damage lung DNA, increasing the long-term risk of malignancies. The doctor emphasized that 'less harmful than cigarettes' does not mean safe.
