Does valley fever ever go away?

I've been suffering from this persistent, low-grade fever and body ache for months, it comes and goes. The doctors haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause. I keep wondering, does this kind of recurring fever ever truly go away completely, or will I have to live with it?

Yes, Valley Fever does go away for most people. In many cases, your body's immune system fights off the fungal infection on its own within a few weeks or months. However, some people need antifungal medications, so keeping in touch with your doctor is key.

It usually goes away, but the blood tests and antifungal medicines can get quite expensive if the infection lingers. I recommend getting a clear treatment plan from a government hospital or using generic options to keep your health budget in check.

Taking steam and drinking warm turmeric milk can help soothe your lungs during recovery, but Valley Fever is a fungal infection that can turn serious. Please make sure you see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and don't rely only on home remedies.

While your body works to clear this fungal infection, eating a clean, nutrient-rich vegetarian diet is very helpful to boost your immunity. Just remember that diet alone cannot cure Valley Fever, so follow your doctor's medication plan closely.

I totally get it, dealing with a persistent fever and cough can make you feel so hopeless and scared. The good news is that for the vast majority of people, Valley Fever resolves completely, even if it takes some time. Please hang in there.

I had Valley Fever during my stay in a dry, dusty region, and it took about four months to completely clear up. My advice is to avoid any strenuous physical activity and dusty outdoor areas while you are recovering, and let the doctor monitor your lungs.
