Does urine infection cause kidney pain?

I've been having symptoms of a urine infection for a couple of days, and now I'm starting to feel some pain in my lower back area. I'm concerned if this means the infection has reached my kidneys. Is kidney pain a common symptom of a UTI?

I am having this exact issue right now! I have a UTI and now my lower back really hurts on one side. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm so worried it has spread.

Yes, if a UTI goes untreated, the infection can travel up to your kidneys and cause severe back pain. Don't sit on this—go get a urine culture and see a doctor immediately.

Hey, don't panic. Yes, an untreated bladder infection can sometimes reach the kidneys, which causes back pain. Go see a doctor today and they will prescribe the right antibiotics to clear it up quickly.

Yes, kidney pain from a UTI is a serious sign that the infection is spreading. Since I monitor my kidney health closely due to my blood pressure, I always advise getting a proper urine routine test done without delay.

Man, UTIs are the worst. I had one last semester and my lower back started aching badly. My doc told me it's because I ignored it for too long. Definitely get it checked.

My mother always tells me to drink barley water to cool the body during a UTI. However, if the pain has reached your kidneys, home remedies won't be enough. Please consult a doctor for proper antibiotics.
