Does urgent care do tb tests?

I've been asked to get a TB test for my new job application, and I need to submit the results soon. Can I get a TB test done at an urgent care clinic, or do I have to go to a specialized lab for this?

I can share my experience. I needed a TB skin test for my new job clearance, and the local urgent care did it easily. I just had to go back after 48 hours to get the result read.

They do TB tests, but make sure to call and ask about the cost first. Some urgent cares charge a lot for the reading visit too, so check if your insurance covers it or look for government health clinics which do it cheaper.

Yes, most urgent care clinics offer both the TB skin test (PPD) and blood tests like QuantiFERON. My doctor told me that if you've had the BCG vaccine, the blood test is usually better to avoid a false positive.

I need to get a TB test done for my visa, but I'm so nervous about visiting clinic spaces right now. Does urgent care get very crowded for these tests? Has anyone done it recently?

Yes, they do TB testing. I booked an appointment through my health app to avoid the wait. It's super efficient, but do remember you'll need to book a second slot 2-3 days later to get the skin test checked.
