Does typhoid vaccine have side effects?

My wife and I are thinking of getting the typhoid vaccine for our children, and for ourselves too. Before we go to the doctor, we wanted to know more. Are there any common side effects people experience after getting the typhoid vaccine?

Honestly, the anxiety of getting side effects was keeping me up at night before my shot. I did feel quite weak and had a headache for two days, which made me feel a bit down. But it passes quickly, so please don't let the fear stop you from getting protected.

When my kids got their typhoid shots, they had a mild fever and felt a little cranky for about 24 hours. I just gave them paracetamol as prescribed by our pediatrician and kept them hydrated with fresh juices. They were back to running around by day two.

Yes, but they are very manageable. You might get a mild fever and some soreness where the needle went in. Just make sure you don't schedule any heavy physical work or travel on the day of the vaccine and the day after.

Chill, don't stress too much about it! It's mostly just a sore arm and maybe a tiny bit of tiredness for a day. It is the perfect excuse to lie in bed, watch your favorite show, and ask someone to bring you hot soup.

My doctor explained that the typhoid vaccine can cause minor local reactions like pain or swelling in about 10-15% of people. A mild headache or fever can also happen, which is just the immune system reacting. He advised taking a basic pain reliever if it gets uncomfortable.

I've been reading up on this because I have to get mine next week. From what I found, most people only report minor swelling on the arm and sometimes a low-grade fever. Seems like it is nothing major to worry about.

I totally get it, nobody likes dealing with vaccine side effects. But fortunately, typhoid vaccine reactions are very mild and short-lived. Just some soreness and minor body fatigue is all most people experience.

My arm felt like it had done a heavy workout on its own for a day, but that was about it. A little rest and a warm cup of tea resolved everything. At our age, we survive much worse than a simple vaccine pinch!

The biggest side effect is that you won't be able to lift your arm to reach the TV remote for a day! Jokes apart, a little soreness and a mild temperature is all you get. It is definitely much better than the actual typhoid fever.

Don't worry, the side effects are very standard for any vaccine. Usually, it's just a bit of body pain, mild fever, or redness at the injection site. These symptoms go away on their own within 1-2 days without any issues.
