Does typhoid shot make you sick?

I'm scheduled to get my typhoid vaccine next week before a college trip. My friend got hers recently and said she felt quite unwell, almost like having a fever. I'm a bit nervous – does the shot commonly make people sick?

Hey, don't worry too much about it. When I got my typhoid shot last year, I only had a mild headache and my arm was sore for a day. It is completely normal to feel a bit heavy or tired, but it goes away quickly if you just rest.

I got the shot last month before my hostel started. Honestly, I only had a mild fever of around 99 for one night and some body pain. Took a paracetamol as told by the doc and was completely fine the next morning.

I totally get it, the fear of falling sick from a vaccine is so real. But most people only get very mild side effects like a heavy arm or slightly warm body. It's just your body's immune system doing its job, so try not to stress.

I can only share what happened with me and my husband when we got vaccinated. He had absolutely zero symptoms, while I had a thoda heavy arm and felt slightly dizzy for a few hours. We both just took it easy that day and were perfectly normal the next.

I was actually looking forward to getting a mild fever so I could sleep all day, but unfortunately, I only got a slightly heavy left arm. I still had to login to work! It really doesn't make you seriously sick, just a bit lazy for a day.

Thoda body ache and fever can happen, haan na. When my daughter took it, she was feeling a bit down for one day, but it is totally normal. Just keep some coconut water ready at home and don't worry at all.

Keep your mind calm and positive before going for the vaccination. Our bodies are very strong and know how to process these things. You might feel a little tired or warm, but look at it as your body building its strength to protect you.

If you have a busy week at work, try to schedule the shot on a Friday evening. That way, if you do get a mild fever or feel fatigued, you can easily recover over the weekend without taking sick leaves.

It usually doesn't cause any major issues. A mild fever or arm pain is all that happens to most people. Just drink plenty of water and rest well after the shot.

The shot might make your muscle a bit stiff, so I skipped my heavy weight training for two days. I just did some light walking to keep the blood flowing, which actually helped with the arm pain. Just check with your doc once before doing any intense workout.

At my age, waking up itself makes me feel sick sometimes, so the typhoid shot was barely noticeable! Joke apart, my arm was sore for two days and I felt a bit slow, but nothing that would stop you from your daily routine.

I was checking Google for three days before getting the shot, totally terrified of getting sick. But actually, it was a very minor thing. I just felt a bit of body ache and shivering for one night, so keeping a thermometer and checking with your doctor beforehand helps calm the anxiety.
