Does typhoid need a booster?

My family doctor advised me to get the typhoid vaccine a few years ago, which I did. Now, I'm planning to travel to a rural area for work. I was wondering if I need a booster shot or if one time is enough to protect myself.

My doctor said it's like a phone recharge plan that expires in a few years! Unless you want to survive only on khichdi and boiled water again, check your last shot date. It is better to take the prick now than face the hospital bills and no-street-food sentence later, trust me.

Honestly, typhoid protection doesn't last forever. If you are travelling or eat outside food often, you usually need a booster every few years. My doctor told me to stay safe and get it updated because even clean-looking salads can sometimes carry the bacteria if the water used wasn't pure.

As someone who cannot live without golgappe and roadside chaat, a booster is absolutely necessary. The immunity doesn't last for life, so we have to get it done every few years to keep our tummies safe while we explore new street food joints.

Yes, the injectable vaccine needs a booster every three years to keep working. The vaccine cost is around 300 to 1000 rupees depending on the brand, which is way cheaper than spending thousands on blood tests and hospital stays if you actually catch typhoid.

Bro, yes it does. I got typhoid back in college and it completely wrecked my fitness for months. When I asked the doc, he said the immunity from the vaccine fades away in 2-3 years, so you definitely need a booster if you are eating out a lot.

You should ask your doctor during your regular health checkup. I usually get my BP checked every month and ask my family doctor about vaccines too. He advised me that typhoid boosters are needed every 3 years, especially as we get older and our immunity gets thoda weak.
