Does type 2 diabetes require insulin?

My sister was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and our family is trying to understand the treatment options. We know some people take insulin for diabetes. So, does Type 2 diabetes always require insulin injections, or can it be managed without them?

My mom has Type 2 and she has been managing it with just oral tablets and daily walks for the last seven years. It really depends on your sugar levels and how well your body responds to lifestyle changes, so don't worry, insulin isn't always the first step.

Only if your pancreas decides to go on a permanent strike! Otherwise, mostly tablets and dodging sweet boxes during Diwali are enough. Jokes aside, insulin is usually the last resort for Type 2.

My family suggested some natural ayurvedic remedies when my sugar rose, but I consulted my doctor who explained that while Type 2 can be managed with tablets initially, some might need insulin temporarily during surgery or pregnancy. I strictly follow my doctor's prescription.

Haan, bilkul sahi baat hai. Starting mein toh diet control aur simple tablets se kaam chal jata hai na. Insulin ki zaroorat tabhi padti hai jab body bilkul react karna band kar de medicines pe. Tension mat lo, pehle doctor se consult karo.

At the specialty clinic I visit, the doctor explained that insulin requirement in Type 2 varies from person to person. It is best to ask your diabetologist to run a C-peptide test to see how much insulin your pancreas is still making before deciding on treatment.

I manage my Type 2 carefully by monitoring my carb intake and taking prescribed oral medicines. Some patients do require insulin later in life if pancreatic function declines, but keeping a strict check on your food can delay or prevent that need. Always seek medical guidance.

My doctor recently suggested I might need to start insulin soon because my fasting sugar is not coming down. I am really scared of injections and feeling very anxious. Has anyone here switched from tablets to insulin? Is it painful?
