Does type 2 diabetes qualify for disability?

My father has Type 2 diabetes with a few complications, and it's becoming very difficult for him to continue working properly. We've heard about disability benefits for some conditions. Could Type 2 diabetes, especially with complications, qualify for disability support in India?

At the hospital where I get my regular checkups, the admin desk clearly stated that Type 2 diabetes alone is not listed as a disability. However, if there are secondary organ damages, the medical board evaluates it. You should ask your treating doctor clearly about the criteria.

Nah bro, simple Type 2 diabetes doesn't qualify for any disability benefits in India. I have been managing it for three years now, and the government doesn't count it unless you have really severe complications like blindness or amputation.

In my sixty years of life, I have seen many people manage Type 2 beautifully without it ever disabling them. Don't worry about disability classifications, beta. Focus on your daily routine and medication, and you will live a very normal and long life.

Nope, no disability card for Type 2 unfortunately! 😅 We just have to work hard, keep walking, and manage it ourselves. Stay positive and keep those sugars low!

Bhaiyya, in our small town, nobody gets disability benefits for sugar. It is considered a common household illness now. You just eat simple roti-sabzi, avoid sweet things, and take your medicines from the local government doctor regularly.
