Does tylenol help with fever and chills?

My daughter has been having fever and chills since morning, and I'm a bit worried. I gave her Tylenol. Does it usually help with both the fever and the shivers, or just one of them?

Yes, Tylenol helps with both the fever and the shivering chills. Since I have high blood pressure, my doctor prefers I use paracetamol over ibuprofen as it is safer for my heart. Make sure you check your BP as well, as stress from fever can sometimes elevate it.

Please be very careful. Last year I ignored a fever with chills, thinking Tylenol would fix it, but it turned out to be dengue and my platelet count dropped drastically. Please get a proper blood test done if the chills are severe.

I know how miserable and scary it feels when you are shivering under three blankets and your head is burning. Tylenol will definitely help calm the chills down in about an hour. Just hold on, take the tablet, and let yourself rest.

Tylenol is highly effective for reducing fever spikes and the associated chills. I log my temperature and heart rate trends on my health app, and a single dose stabilizes my stats within an hour. Make sure you hydrate well as chills can deplete fluids.

I used to panic completely whenever I got chills with a fever, thinking it was some terrible illness. But my doctor assured me it's just the body's natural response to fight off a simple viral infection. Tylenol works beautifully to bring the temperature back to normal.
