Does tylenol cure fever?

My son has a slight fever and I gave him some Tylenol. Just want to confirm if it really cures the fever completely or just manages the symptoms for a while. My wife is a bit worried.

It doesn't cure the actual infection, but it is very good at bringing down the fever and making you feel comfortable. Take rest and try not to worry too much. I hope you recover very quickly.

In all my years, I've seen that Tylenol only gives temporary relief from the hot body temperature. It doesn't kill the underlying viral or bacterial bug. Give your body a few days of complete rest and simple food, and it will heal.

Listen, Tylenol is just for symptom management, it is not a cure. When I had dengue last year, it helped bring my high fever down, but the actual recovery took time, hydration, and proper medical monitoring. Keep tracking your temperature every 6 hours.

Think of Tylenol as a helper that temporarily lowers your temperature and relieves body aches. It doesn't treat the root cause of the fever, like a cold or viral infection. If your fever stays high for more than three days, you must consult your doctor.

Please remember it only hides the symptom. I once kept taking Tylenol to suppress a fever, ignoring the fact that it was actually a severe typhoid infection that got complicated because of delay. Don't make my mistake, see a doctor if it doesn't clear up.
