Does turmeric help the liver?

We often hear about turmeric being good for everything, especially in our Indian traditions. I'm trying to improve my overall health. Does turmeric actually benefit the liver significantly?

Please be very careful with this. I tried taking heavy turmeric extract capsules thinking it would detox my liver, but it actually upset my stomach and liver enzymes went up. I had to run to the gastro doctor immediately. Never self-treat liver issues with heavy supplements, always consult a proper doctor first.

Actually, haldi is great for immunity and liver protection, but people overdo it, yaar. Just adding normal amount to your daily dal and sabzi is more than enough. No need to buy those fancy, expensive liver detox powders that claim miracles.

I also read that turmeric helps, but when I tried drinking haldi water every morning, I started getting a strange burning sensation in my chest. Has anyone else felt this way? I am a bit scared now and thinking if I should stop it completely.

I am actually quite new to learning about healthy diets and liver care. I have heard my mother talk about haldi milk, but is it safe to have it daily for the liver? And does it matter if we take it in the morning or at night?

Turmeric is good for general cell health because of curcumin, but it's not a shortcut to a clean liver. If your lifestyle is messy with junk food and no workouts, haldi won't save your liver. Keep a clean diet, drink water, sweat it out, and let your body do its natural detox.
