Does turmeric cleanse the liver?

My sister was talking about doing a 'liver cleanse' and mentioned that turmeric is great for that. She thinks it helps purify the liver. Does turmeric actually cleanse the liver, or is it more of a general health booster?

I used to panic about my liver health after eating junk food and tried all kinds of detox drinks like turmeric water. Later, my doctor reassured me that the liver cleanses itself naturally. Turmeric just supports general health, so relax and eat simple food.

I had fatty liver stage 1, and while turmeric has good anti-inflammatory properties, it cannot 'cleanse' your liver on its own. The only real way to heal your liver is cutting down on sugar, alcohol, and processed foods.

My physician at Apollo told me that the concept of a 'liver detox' is mostly marketing. Turmeric is healthy, but for any liver concerns, get an ultrasound and a liver function test done and ask your doctor clearly.

Let's be clear: no single ingredient can 'cleanse' your liver. While turmeric contains curcumin which has antioxidant properties, your liver doesn't need detox drinks to function well if you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I always research ingredients carefully due to my thyroid health. Turmeric is supportive, but don't rely on it as a cure-all. It is much safer to get regular blood tests done and follow your doctor's advice.

Turmeric is indeed very good for daily health and digestion. Just enjoy it in your normal home-cooked meals, as that is the safest and most natural way to support your body.
