Does trt cause prostate cancer?

My doctor is suggesting TRT for my low energy levels, but my father had prostate cancer, so I'm very cautious. Is there a strong link between TRT and an increased risk of prostate cancer?

Dealing with hormone imbalances is always tricky, much like my journey with PCOS. The general medical consensus is that TRT does not cause prostate cancer, but hormones are highly sensitive. It is best to take a cautious approach and consult a specialist rather than relying on general advice.

I ignored my rising PSA levels once and it led to major complications later. While TRT itself doesn't directly cause prostate cancer, it can definitely feed existing cancer cells. Please do not skip your regular prostate checkups and digital rectal exams before starting therapy.

Don't let the internet scare you with extreme stories. The simple solution is to get a routine PSA test done at any local lab before you start TRT. If your initial reports are clear, TRT is generally considered safe under a doctor's guidance.

Hormones affect everything, just like sugar levels impact the entire body. While TRT is not directly linked to causing prostate cancer, you must be careful. Ensure you are eating a clean, high-fiber diet and getting your regular blood panels done to keep your body in check.

My doctor cleared this up for me when I asked. TRT does not cause prostate cancer. However, if you already have undiagnosed cancer, the testosterone can accelerate its growth. That is why they do a PSA blood test before they write the prescription.

It is completely natural to worry about serious illnesses like cancer when starting hormone therapy. While research says TRT doesn't cause it, keeping your body detoxified with pumpkin seeds and green tea can support prostate health. Always keep your doctor in the loop.

I had a scare during my TRT because my PSA levels shot up rapidly. Thankfully, it wasn't cancer, but it was a close call that required stopping the therapy. Please see an oncologist or urologist for a proper evaluation before you begin any hormone treatment.
