Does tomatoes make arthritis worse?

My mother-in-law has really bad arthritis, and she avoids tomatoes completely because she believes they make her pain worse. Is there a connection between tomatoes and worsening arthritis symptoms?

I was looking this up recently because my uncle has arthritis. Scientists say there is no direct evidence that tomatoes trigger joint pain, though some people report personal sensitivity to nightshades. Most studies actually suggest tomatoes are anti-inflammatory.

I spent a year avoiding random foods like tomatoes hoping my joint swelling would stop, and it only got worse. Please don't rely on self-diagnosing food triggers. Go to a rheumatologist and get a proper diagnosis before your joints suffer permanent damage.

For most people, tomatoes do not impact arthritis. Don't waste time overthinking minor food details. Focus on regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and following your doctor's prescribed treatment plan instead.

Suno boss, tomatoes are full of healthy vitamins, don't just ban them from your kitchen based on WhatsApp forwards. If you feel pain after eating them, stop for a week and see. If pain stays, go see a real doctor, simple.

In our experience, sour things like raw tomatoes can sometimes aggravate joint stiffness in cold weather. Try cooking them well with a bit of turmeric and ginger, which naturally helps reduce body pain. But do keep taking your regular joint medicines.

It is safer not to experiment with dietary restrictions on your own when dealing with painful conditions like arthritis. Please consult your physician or a specialist who can run blood tests to find the actual cause of your inflammation flare-ups.

Unless a tomato falls directly on your knee, it's highly unlikely to make your arthritis worse! Seriously though, it's mostly a myth. Enjoy your tomato soup and don't stress too much.
