Does thyroid recover after immunotherapy?

My father is undergoing immunotherapy for his cancer treatment. We recently found out his thyroid levels are a bit off. We are worried if his thyroid function will recover once his immunotherapy sessions are over.

Haan na, immunotherapy directly affects the thyroid gland in many cases, making it sluggish. Honestly, it usually doesn't recover fully on its own once damaged, but don't worry. Daily thyroid tablet helps to keep everything normal, so check with your doc, ho na.

It can be a bit of a slow process, but yes, with proper care and regular follow-ups, your thyroid function can be managed beautifully! 😊 Just stay positive and make sure you do your routine blood tests on time. You got this!

It's best to track your symptoms like energy levels and heart rate on a smart watch or app. Often, immunotherapy-induced thyroid issues require long-term hormone replacement, which is very easy to manage. Keep logging your lab reports on your health app to monitor the trends over time.

Just finished my post-treatment follow-ups last month. My doctor explained that immunotherapy can cause thyroiditis, which sometimes leaves the thyroid permanently underactive. I am on a low dose of thyroxine now and feeling perfectly healthy and active again, so there's nothing to worry about.

I've been managing my diabetes and thyroid for years, and these treatments do put a lot of load on the endocrine system. Keep a close eye on your diet and avoid processed sugars during recovery to help your metabolism. Definitely consult your endocrinologist to see if you need daily support pills.

My doctor said my thyroid might be permanently underactive now after my treatment, and I am quite stressed about it. Has anyone else here actually recovered their natural thyroid function after immunotherapy? Pls let me know if it gets better or if I have to take meds forever.
