Does thyroid increase calcium?

My recent blood test showed my calcium levels were a bit high, and my doctor is looking into it. Knowing the thyroid gland is involved with hormones, a question arises. Can thyroid issues lead to an increase in body's calcium levels?

I can barely keep my eyes open, and now I have to worry about calcium too? Actually, it's usually the parathyroid glands (which sit right next to the thyroid) that control calcium, but a severe thyroid issue can also mess things up. Definitely check with a doc.

I had high calcium in my blood and it turned out to be a parathyroid issue, not the main thyroid. My doctor explained the difference and treated it, and I feel completely fine now. Please get a proper blood test done.

Don't start drinking gallons of milk to match your calcium levels! It's actually the tiny parathyroid glands that do the heavy lifting for calcium. Just let your doctor run some tests and don't stress over it.

Imbalanced calcium levels can affect your blood pressure and heart health too. I always make sure to get my kidney functions and calcium levels checked alongside my regular thyroid panel. Proper doctor follow-up is very important.

Wait, I didn't even know these two were connected! From what I read for my biology class, it's mostly the parathyroid glands that do this. Better to ask a doc than stress out about it on the internet.
