Does the sun really cause skin cancer?

Tanning and spending time outdoors with friends is something I love, but I've heard so many warnings about skin cancer. Is it really true that the sun directly causes skin cancer, or is it more about genetic predisposition and other factors?

We have spent our whole lives working under the sun without worrying too much. While it is true that harsh UV rays can cause skin damage, in India we have good melanin protection, so don't panic but stay safe in peak summer.

Prolonged exposure to intense UV rays does damage cell DNA, which can lead to skin issues. If you do outdoor workouts, try to schedule them early morning or late evening to avoid the harshest sun rays.

Yes, UV rays are a major factor. Investing in a decent Rs. 300 sunscreen is a very practical way to prevent expensive skin treatments and dermatologist visits later in life.

The sun is our source of life and energy, but too much of anything can cause imbalance. Enjoy the gentle morning sun and protect yourself during the harsh midday hours. Take care of your body.

Don't believe social media posts saying sun exposure is completely harmless. The link between UV radiation and skin damage is scientifically proven, so check with a certified dermatologist for correct advice.
