Does the sun aggravate eczema?

Every summer, my eczema flares up really badly, especially on my arms. I try to stay out of direct sunlight, but it's hard. Does the sun directly aggravate eczema, or is it the heat and sweat that are the main culprits?

Yes, the sweat and heat from the sun can definitely make eczema flare up! ☀️ Try to stay in cool areas and apply a nice fragrance-free moisturizer to keep your skin happy.

Dhoop mein nikalne se garmi aur paseena hota hai, jisse khujli aur badh jati hai. Aap koshish kariye ki dopahar mein bahar na niklein aur hamesha sooti kapde hi pehnein.

Just like managing blood sugar, skin health requires careful monitoring. While a little morning sun is fine for vitamin D, harsh sunlight can dry out the skin and trigger eczema, so balance is very important.

In my experience, whenever I spend more than 15 minutes in the direct sun during summers, my arm patches get extremely red and itchy. Wearing loose full-sleeves has helped me manage it to some extent.

Look, sweating in the direct sun is a major trigger for skin irritation. Stop going out in peak afternoon hours without an umbrella or a proper physical sunscreen, it will only make it worse.

Yes, extreme heat can aggravate skin issues and also affect your blood pressure if you get dehydrated. Ensure you drink enough water and do regular health checkups to keep everything in order.

I am newly facing these dry skin patches on my neck. Is there any specific mild sunscreen that doesn't cause burning on eczema-prone skin?

Don't believe people who say sun exposure cures eczema completely. It is a complex medical condition, and UV rays can actually damage your skin barrier further. Better verify with a dermatologist.
