Does the liver regulate blood glucose?

My doctor recently mentioned some issues with my blood sugar levels. He briefly talked about the liver's role, and now I'm curious if it controls blood glucose directly. I'm trying to understand my body better, especially with my family history of diabetes.

Yes, the liver is like a warehouse that stores and releases sugar when needed. Honestly, instead of guessing, just book a basic fasting sugar and HbA1c test online. You can get cheap home collection packages nowadays for under 300-400 rupees if you plan ahead.

Yes, absolutely! Our liver is a total multitasking superhero that keeps glucose levels balanced day and night. 😊 It stores extra glucose and releases it whenever our body runs low on energy. It's so amazing how our body works behind the scenes! 👍

My liver is probably working overtime keeping my glucose stable because Lord knows my sleep schedule isn't helping. Yes, it does regulate it, especially when we are fasting or sleeping. Wish it could also regulate my midnight cravings because I am writing this at 3 AM while eating biscuits.

Haan bro, it definitely does. I had to read up on this when my dad's sugar was fluctuating like crazy last year. The liver stores it as glycogen and releases it when you work out or skip a meal. It's basically the body's backup battery.

Look, simply put, the liver does major work in controlling sugar. When you eat, it stores the extra, and when you fast, it sends sugar back into the blood. But don't use this biology class logic to ignore actual diabetes symptoms if you have any. Go get checked properly if your reports are coming high.

I agree with everyone here, the liver plays a massive role in glucose regulation. Just make sure to eat balanced meals on time so you don't overstress your liver and pancreas.
