Does the flu always come with fever?

My daughter has been coughing and feeling very weak, but her temperature is normal. Her school sent a notice about flu cases, so I'm a bit concerned. Does the flu always come with a fever, or can you have it without one?

Our bodies respond to illnesses in unique ways. Sometimes the flu passes through us without any fever at all, just showing as tiredness or a cough. Keep your spirits high, eat pure food, and allow yourself to heal.

I had a confirmed case of influenza last winter, and my temperature never went above normal. I just had severe body aches and a bad cough. So from my experience, a fever isn't always guaranteed.

I completely understand why you are asking this, as it is so easy to panic when your symptoms don't perfectly match the textbook. Yes, you can absolutely have the flu without a fever. Take a deep breath, you are going to be okay.

Nahi beta, aisa zaroori nahi hai. Kai baar bina bukhar ke bhi sard-garam ho jata hai aur sharir tootne lagta hai. Garam paani piyo aur thoda aaram karo, sab theek ho jayega.

No, it doesn't always cause a fever. But if you have diabetes, even a feverless flu can stress your body and spike your blood sugar. Keep monitoring your levels closely and drink plenty of sugar-free fluids.

Honestly, at this age, my joints hurt so much daily that I can't even tell if it's the flu or just Monday! But yes, you can have the flu without a fever. Just enjoy the lack of chills and take a good nap.

In my sixty years, I have seen many family members catch the flu without ever getting a hot forehead. It is very common, so don't let it worry you. Just rest your body for a couple of days.

No fever means you dodged the worst part of the drama! You can definitely have the flu with just a runny nose and a voice that sounds like a radio announcer. Stay hydrated and enjoy the excuse to ignore phone calls.

My son had the flu last month and never ran a fever, just had a terrible sore throat and fatigue. I kept him home from school to rest and gave him warm vegetable soups. It's totally possible to not have a fever.

Haan na, actually quite true! Last time mujhe bhi sirf body pain aur cold tha, par fever bilkul nahi aaya. Don't worry, thoda steam le lo aur aaram karo, clear ho jayega.

I've dealt with this a few times. You can definitely have the flu without running a temperature, especially if you got the flu shot. Focus on clearing your nasal passages with steam inhalation, it helps immensely with the congestion.

It is not necessary to have a fever every time. In our experience, some ginger-turmeric tea with a spoonful of honey works wonders when you have the flu without a fever. It warms the body from inside and relieves throat irritation.
