Does the flu always cause vomiting?

My neighbour has the flu and he's been vomiting quite a bit, which got me worried. Is vomiting a standard symptom of the flu, or is it something that happens only in severe cases? I thought flu was more about respiratory stuff.

No, not at all! I used to panic thinking every flu would lead to vomiting, but I realized it's actually quite rare in adults. It's mostly just congestion and body pain. Relax, your stomach should be fine.

Vomiting is typically associated with 'stomach flu' which is gastroenteritis, not the actual influenza virus. If you are vomiting constantly, you need to focus on ORS hydration and see a doctor to get an anti-vomiting tablet.

Hey, don't stress too much about vomiting! The regular flu mostly affects your chest and nose, not your stomach. Just stay cozy under the blankets and sip on some hot water.

No, the flu usually leaves the digestive tract alone. If you feel thoda nauseous, try practicing slow, deep abdominal breathing. It helps calm the nervous system and relaxes the stomach muscles wonderfully.

My grandmother always suggests drinking rice kanji with a pinch of salt if our stomach feels upset during a cold. However, vomiting is not very common with standard flu, so if it is severe, please consult your doctor for proper medication.

Influenza is primarily a respiratory illness, so vomiting is not a hallmark symptom for adults. If you are experiencing persistent vomiting alongside flu symptoms, it could indicate a secondary issue, and you should seek a doctor's advice.

From what I have seen over the years with my kids and family, vomiting is much more common in young children when they get the flu. Adults rarely vomit from it. Just focus on resting your body.

Thankfully no! Dealing with a blocked nose and body ache is exhausting enough, we don't need vomiting added to the mix. It rarely happens with the actual flu, so you can breathe easy.

Vomiting is not a standard symptom of the respiratory flu, though it can happen in kids. If your stomach is feeling weak, try drinking light ginger-tulsi tea or warm vegetable broth. Avoid heavy, oily foods to keep your digestion easy.

In my experience, I have had the flu multiple times and never vomited once. It is usually just a bad throat and a heavy head for me. Everyone's body reacts a bit differently though.
