Does the eyeball feel pain?

Sometimes if I accidentally rub my eye too hard, it feels sensitive but not really 'painful' in the same way a cut would hurt. I'm curious, does the actual eyeball itself have pain receptors and feel pain, or is it just the surrounding structures that hurt?

I totally get it, eye pain is so incredibly uncomfortable and scary because our eyes are so sensitive. It makes it hard to even look at screens. Please rest your eyes and don't hesitate to consult an eye specialist if it persists.

Yes, absolutely, the eyeball has many nerve endings and can definitely feel sharp or dull pain.

Look, the eyeball has lots of nerves, so of course it feels pain. If you are experiencing sharp pain, redness, or blurry vision, stop looking at your phone and go see an eye doctor immediately. Don't take risks with your eyes.

Haan na, eyeball pain can be really irritating and stressful! Sometimes it is just strain from mobile screens, but if it hurts inside, then we should not ignore it. Thoda ice pack try karo but do visit a doc if it hurts too much.

I was actually reading a biology article about this. The cornea is one of the most sensitive parts of the body, which is why even a tiny dust particle hurts so much. It's fascinating but also really painful when something actually goes wrong!

Eye pain can sometimes be a sign of increased pressure inside the eye, which is serious. Please get it checked by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible to ensure your safety. Do not try self-medicating with random drops.

Yes, the eyeball can definitely feel pain due to dryness, infection, or muscle strain. Try using preservative-free lubricating drops if it's just mild irritation from laptop work. But if the pain is deep or throbbing, a clinic visit is necessary.

Of course it does, especially when I look at my monthly credit card bills! But seriously, if your actual eyeball is hurting, it is time to put down the phone and rest. If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, go see the eye doc.
